Obituary

Stanley Herbert Brauer, age 78, of Tipton, MO, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, MO.

Stanley was born November 27, 1943, in Syracuse, MO, a son of Herbert and Laura (Kirchner) Brauer, who preceded him in death.

On October 23, 1965, at First Baptist Church of Syracuse, MO, he married the love of his life, Karen Klein, who survives of the home.

Stanley graduated from Tipton High School in 1961 and earned his bachelor’s degree in field crops production from the University of Missouri in 1965.

Stanley served honorably in the United States Army in Vietnam, where he earned a Distinguished Flying Cross for service above and beyond the call of duty, and served as a military flight instructor at Fort Wolters, TX. After his military service, he returned home to farm corn, soybeans and wheat with his son-in-law and operate Brauer Construction with his son.

A lifelong Christian, Stanley was ordained a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Syracuse and continued to serve at First Baptist Church of Tipton, Missouri. He was also a 32nd-degree Mason.

He loved his family (especially his grandchildren), as well as the St. Louis Cardinals and the Mizzou Tigers, dearly. He enjoyed joining his family in song and hearing his grandchildren make music.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, survivors include their daughter Stacey Wolf (Russell) of Tipton, and son Chris Brauer (Miranda), of Syracuse; his three siblings, Sandra Scherff (Ron) of Colorado Springs, CO, Joyce Boyt (Jim) of Springfield, MO, and Steven Brauer (Lynn) of Tipton; and his three grandchildren, Laura Wolf of St. Louis, MO, Dale Brauer of Tipton, MO, and Quinn Wolf of Springfield, MO.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Thursday, September 1, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Tipton, MO with Peggy Richardson and Pastor Jared Rivera, officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until service time at the church. Full military honors will be rendered by the Army National Guard Honors Team and the American Legion.
