Obituary

Shelly Dee (Brenner) Hicks, 55, of Stover, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

She was born February 18, 1967, in Muscatine, IA, daughter of William Brenner and Linda (Lincoln) Zurmiller.

Shelly was a 1986 graduate of Morgan County R-1 School. She worked as a CNA, in a factory and was manager of Dollar General for a time.

She was a very giving person and was always there when you needed someone. She was the life of the party and there was never a dull moment with her. She loved her farm life- cows, dogs, fishing, and working outside. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her kids and grandkids.

Surviving are two daughters, Samantha Smith of Lebanon, and Brittany Brown (Anthony) of Versailles; her mother, Linda Zurmiller of Stover; her fiancé, Danny Kerksiek of the home; five grandchildren, Cody, Haydn, Emily, Sydney and Gabe; her siblings, Sandra Brenner, Sheila Brown and Stacy Brenner; brother-in-law, Randy Brown; and numerous family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Daddy, William Brenner; stepdad, Verlin Zurmiller; sister, Shawn Brown and nephew, Royce Brown; brothers, Dennis Zurmiller, Rick Zurmiller, Vernon Zurmiller and Larry “Butch” Zurmiller; her beloved Granny and Grandpa Lincoln; and paternal grandparents, Kenny and Lucille Brenner.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022, at Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover, with Rev. J.J. White officiating.

Pallbearers will be Cody Breshears, Haydn Smith, Anthony Brown, Jason Legan, Michael Simpson Jr. and Ryant Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Brown and Randy Brown.

Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
