Sarah Dick Obituary

Sarah Elizabeth Dick, 92, formerly of Otterville, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Tipton Oak Manor.

She was born February 24, 1931, south of Smithton, a daughter of John Frederick and Birdie Louise (Dewan) Meyer.

On June 23, 1951, in Clinton, she married Virgil Leroy Dick, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2001.

Sarah was a graduate of Otterville High School. She worked at Lamy's and Shoney's. She raised a big garden along with her brother, Ernest and his wife, Dorothy. She is known for her homemade bread and the jelly she made from her giant grapevine. You always left Sarah with a story to tell and a smile on your face. 

Surviving are three children, Joyce Walters (Raymond), of Whitesboro, TX, Janet Johns, of Tioga, TX, and Tony Dick, of Tipton; two granddaughters, Betty Cook (Paul) and Cody Anne Johns; a great-granddaughter, McKenzie Cook; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Johns; a granddaughter, Elizabeth; brothers, Raymond, Ernest, Fred, Virgil, Chris, JB; and a sister, Zetta Dowdy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.
