Obituary

Arthur Raydean Moon, 62, of Eldon, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.

He was born November 5, 1959, in Jefferson City, a son of Leroy Dean and Iris Jean (Reeves) Moon.

Raydean attended church all throughout this childhood and early adulthood.  He loved to sing and sang several specials when we could convince him to.  While he didn't currently attend due to his health he grew up attending the Baptist churches that his dad, Leroy Moon pastored at.

Raydean attended elementary school in Kansas City and Fortuna, and graduated from Tipton High School in 1978.  He went on to attend Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.

Raydean grew up in Jackson, Jeff City, Kansas City, Tipton, Fortuna, and Florence, all of Missouri.  As an adult, he lived in the state of California, via joining the Navy.  He then moved throughout central Missouri, living in Jeff City, Holts Summit, and Sedalia,

Raydean worked as a security guard.  In between security jobs he worked in a pizza restaurant and a janitorial service.  Raydean enjoyed watching movies and could answer almost any question about who starred or acted in movies.  He liked to read westerns and suspense novels.  He liked playing cards and dominoes.  He watched his nephew play basketball any chance he could and was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and St. Louis Cardinals.  He had a collection of baseball caps from those teams.

Survivors include his stepmother, Marietta Moon, of Clarksburg, MO; one sister, Rosie Moon of Versailles, MO; stepbrothers, Peter Alonzo (Leslie) of Hoffman Estates, IL, John Alonzo of Elburn, IL, Joe Alonzo (Cheryl) of Jefferson City, MO; stepsisters, Nancy Bortolameoli (Gene) of Appleton, WI, Rose Nelson (Kevin) of Jefferson City, MO; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by one brother, Randall Lee Moon.
