Phyllis M Carter

October 16, 1951 ~ March 27, 2023 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Obituary

Phyllis Carter, age 71, of Stover passed away Monday, March 27th, 2023 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
It was on the 16th day of October in 1951 when Herschel Eugene and Mary Louise (Broshears) Enochs welcomed their daughter, Phyllis Marie, into their home in Indianapolis, Indiana.
On March 17, 1968, Phyllis was united in marriage to Edward Carter in Indianapolis.
Phyllis had four things important in her life, her church, her grandkids, her dog Allie, and her flower gardens. She attended the Family Worship Center in Versailles. Prior to that she attended St. Peters Assembly of God where she was very active in Women's Ministries. Phyllis loved her grandchildren with all her heart and found such joy watching them as she spent time painting rocks with them all. Her dog Allie was a faithful companion that rarely left her side. Her flower gardens were beautiful and she loved spending her time tending to them.
She also collected every angel that she came across, as well as, ceramic dolls. She was a thrift store shopper, who passionately searched for the best possible bargains while Ed waited for her in the truck to bring out her bags of treasures.
Left to carry on her legacy is her husband of 55 years, Ed, of Stover; four children and their spouses, Michele Dunn (Leslie) of Park Hills, Angie Brinkmann (Chris) of Columbia, Keith Carter of Farmington, and Kim Collins (Chris) of St. Charles; eleven grandchildren, Jimmy, Ashlee, Steven, Tina, Grace, Josh, Briana, Mercedes, Tyeler, Hunter, and Jesse; six great grandchildren, Brayden, Chase, Roman, Lydia, Cas, and Aurora; five siblings, Herschel Enochs (Sandra) of California, James Enochs (Jody) of Kentucky, Patricia Buck (Ben) of Florida, Pat Enochs (Kathy) of Indiana, and Linda Martin (Skip) of Indiana; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be 12:00 noon Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover with Pastor Danny Owsley officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
