Patricia Mae (Laughlin) Dill

Patricia Mae Dill, age 90, of Olathe, KS, formerly of Pilot Grove, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Villa St. Francis Catholic Care Center in Olathe.

Patricia was born August 26, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, a daughter of Joseph and Ann (Kever) Laughlin. She married the love of her life, Ignatius John Dill on July 7, 1951, in Kansas City, MO.

Patricia was raised Roman Catholic. She quilted with the ladies of St. Joseph Parish and filled her time with the St. Joseph Altar Society, including serving as President for several years and organizing and serving funeral dinners. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and enjoyed working Bingo on Friday evenings.

In addition to raising nine children, she was a babysitter and worked various jobs including Lourdes-St. Regis Credit Union.

Pat was an avid quilter. She made quilts for each of her children and 25 grandchildren. She canned vegetables from Iggy’s garden and made wonderful sauerkraut. She was competitive and loved playing cards and games. She also faithfully watched Jeopardy and the Price is Right. She actually appeared on the Price is Right in 2006 and won the Showcase Showdown. She loved to go to the casino with anyone who would go with her, including her grandkids on their 21st birthdays. Pat also was a skilled Bingo enthusiast and reprimanded family members if they happened to miss a Bingo.

She is survived by eight children, Pamela Murphy (Patrick) of Nashville, TN, Janice Schuppert (Marty) of Hilton Head Island, SC, Edward Dill (Deborah) of Tulsa, OK, Joann Riggs (David) of Leawood, KS, Mary Weaver (James) of Overland Park, KS, Rita Schuster (John) of Pilot Grove, Stephen Dill (Janelle) Hilton Head Island, SC, and Vincent Dill of Lansing, KS; one brother, Thomas Laughlin; twenty-five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and Shannon Farnsworth.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael “Mick” Dill; and seven siblings, Mary Ann Schroeger, Kay Jones, Joseph Laughlin, Francis Gray, Delores Schleicher, Donald Laughlin, and Judy Bauer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pilot Grove with Father Mark Smith, officiating. Prayers of the Holy Rosary will be said at 9:00 a.m. at the church, followed by visitation until Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Pilot Grove.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Altar Society or Villa St. Francis Catholic Care Center Employee Christmas Fund, Olathe, Kansas.
