Helen B. Schollmeyer

March 9, 1933 — November 23, 2022

Tipton

Helen Bowers (Patton) Schollmeyer, 89, of Tipton, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 23, 2022 at Tipton Oak Manor.

Helen was born March 9, 1933 to Conner Blaine and Nan Patton. She was the youngest of her family. They lived in Raleigh, NC and she attended Peace College for teaching.

She met the love of her life, Francis J Schollmeyer (12/26/1933 – 05/04/1991) at Fort Mead and married him July 2, 1960. Together they had four children, Micheal (Randa) Schollmeyer of Texas, Patty Schollmeyer, Cathy Maddex and Wendy Rimel, all of Tipton; grandchildren, Scott (Ali) Schollmeyer, Dan Schollmeyer, Shelby (Taylor) Fast, Joey (Grace) Rimel, Heather Armstrong, Maleah Maddex and Max Maddex; great-grandchildren, Colten, Franklin, Rylee and Skye. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Leo Schollmeyer, of Tipton.

Helen was a teacher in Maryland and after marriage, she taught at St. Andrew’s, where she was a member. After teaching, she was elected City Clerk for 26 years. She was kind, fair and always liked when her books balanced to the penny.

Family was everything to Helen. She was a wonderful wife and mother, great cook and loved the afternoon adventure of a country drive. She loved people, animals and music with a good beat. Family and friends knew she enjoyed cards and watching Duke Basketball on TV.  She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and family friends she loved as her own.

The family would like to thank the staff of Tipton Oak Manor for their care and friendship while she was a resident, and St. Mary’s Hospital for their wonderful care during her stay.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 9:45 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church with visitation to follow until 11 am.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am at the church with Father Anthony Viviano officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dan Schollmeyer, Joey Rimel, Heather Armstrong, Taylor Fast, Max Maddex and John Haines.

Burial will be in St Andrew’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Homes.
