Gary Dean Oerly

Gary Dean Oerly, age 62, of Boonville, MO,  passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Gary was born February 26, 1961, in Jefferson City, MO, the son of Dean and Marie (Baker) Oerly. He married the love of his life, Beverly Kathryn Young, on June 9, 1984, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pilot Grove, MO.  

He worked as a supervisor for Farm Bureau Insurance and as a captain at the Boone County Fire Protection District. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, uncle, and friend. Everyone knew Gary as a leader and mentor. He was respected and loved by all who knew him. He was a generous soul that made an unforgettable impact on his coworkers and family. Gary will be dearly missed.

Gary is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years. Bev; two daughters, Kelsey Clark (Eric) of Wentzville, MO and Morgan McCartney (Travis) of Kansas City, MO; his parents, Dean and Marie Oerly of Boonville; three sisters, Cathy Maupin (David) of Boonville, Sherry Shelton (Bill) of Boonville, and Darla Spangler (Chris) of Sedalia; many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and coworkers.

Prayers and the Holy Rosary will begin at 4:45 pm followed by visitation until 7:00 pm Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Boonville, MO.  Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 11, 2023, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Mark Smith, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pilot Grove, MO, with full escort from the Boone County Fire Protection District.

Pallbearers will be members of the Boone County Fire Protection District.

Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Williams, Trenton Young, Mason Young, Alex Young, Chris Windsor, Brett Shelton, Cale Spangler, Clint Spangler, and Chance Spangler.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home, Pilot Grove, MO.
