Dorothy Metscher

July 2, 1928 — October 5, 2022

Stover

Dorothy Metscher, age 94, of Stover passed away October 5, 2022 at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
It was on the 2nd day of July in 1928 in Mayview, Missouri that Jacob and Nora (Koeller) Spencer welcomed their sweet girl, Dorothy Agnes, into their home.
On November 4, 1944 she was married to Raymond Metscher in Sedalia. Raymond preceded her in death on March 7, 2016.
Dorothy worked as a CNA for Good Shepherd Care Center for over thirty years. She enjoyed working everyday.
Along with being a dedicated CNA that cared for her patients, she was also a dedicated and loving mother. She loved taking care of her family. Hosting family get togethers, cooking and baking for everyone was such a joy for her. Dorothy also kept busy sewing. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great-great grandchildren.
Left to carry on Dorothy's legacy is her son, Ray Metscher Jr. and wife Eula of Gravois Mills; two daughters, Elaine Buchanan of Independence and Alice Anderson of Blue Springs; two brothers, Herb Spencer of Anamosa, Iowa and Elbert Spencer of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two sisters, Florence Markley of Ames, Iowa and Darlene Goodrich of Grinnell, Iowa; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by one son, David Metscher; one great granddaughter, Amber; a brother, James "Bud" Spencer; and a sister, Marg Elliott.
In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date. Dorothy will be reunited with Raymond to spend forever together in the Stover Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus or the American Heart Association.
