Caleb Garrett Brodersen, 16, of Florence, passed away Friday evening, October 14, 2022, near Florence, as a result of a car accident while on the way home from a soccer game.

He was born August 9, 2006, in Florence, one of four children of Kevin Wayne and Amber Marie (Poff) Brodersen.

Caleb was a sophomore at Morgan County R-1 High School in Stover. Sports were his life- cross country, track, basketball, baseball, soccer- he played everything he could. He had just started a job umpiring baseball recently.

He enjoyed gaming, driving of any type- dirt bikes, go-karts, 4-wheelers- and loved to wake board at the lake.

Caleb will be remembered as funny, independent, lively, charismatic, and so happy and full of life. People loved being around him. He loved life.

Surviving are his parents, Kevin and Amber Brodersen, of the home; three siblings, Alexa Brodersen (partner, Ian), Blaine Brodersen and Dylan Brodersen, all of the home; paternal grandparents, Gary and Barbara Brodersen, of Florence; maternal grandparents, David and Sue Poff, of Gladstone; paternal great-grandparents, George and Norma Chapman; maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Poff; and two uncles, Scott Brodersen (Silva) and Troy Poff.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Poff; paternal great-grandparents, Leo and Lucille Brodersen and Lois Chapman; and maternal great-grandparents, Ralph Poff, and William and Viola Brownfield.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Morgan County R-I High School in Stover, with the specific location to be announced closer to time.

Honorary bearers will be Blaine Brodersen, Dylan Brodersen, and all of Caleb’s friends and teammates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Stover Booster Club.
