Anthony D Nolting

September 19, 1957 — October 4, 2022

Lone Jack

Anthony Nolting, age 65, of Lone Jack passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at his home.

It was the 19th day of September in 1957 when Fred and Mary (Rapp) Nolting welcomed their first child, Anthony Dean, into their home.

On August 24, 1985, Anthony was united in marriage to Joan Maness in Stover.

Prior to his retirement in 2019, Anthony was a maintenance supervisor at Kansas City International Airport for 29 years.  For distinguished technical services provided to the airport, the City of Kansas City bestowed him with an Excellence in Public Service award in 2016.

He was a faithful member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Kansas City, where he served on the Property Committee and performed a wide variety of maintenance jobs for the church for many years.

Anthony was involved in organizations that encouraged young men. He was an adult leader of the Boy Scouts of America where he mentored multiple Eagle Scouts. He was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, an honorary Boy Scout organization, with the tribal name Keeper of Many Lights.

Always one to stay busy, Anthony had many hobbies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, winemaking, and repairing small engines.

Anthony always had a big smile, an infectious laugh, and a willingness to help anyone.

Anthony was diagnosed with ALS in 2020 and battled the debilitating disease with an amazing level of grace, selflessness, and faith.

Left to carry on Anthony's legacy is his wife of thirty-seven years, Joan; his son, Stephen Nolting; his daughter, Lauren Newkirk and husband Shaun; his parents, Fred and Mary Nolting; two brothers, Bradley Nolting and Carey Nolting and wife Vicki; a sister, Kim Decker and husband Ken; along with many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following visitation on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 1701 NE 96th St. Kansas City, MO 64155.  A second visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following visitation on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover, MO.  Inurnment will be held in the Stover Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the King of Kings Lutheran Church or the ALS Association Mid-America Chapter, 6405 Metcalf Ave. Suite 205, Overland Park, KS 66202.
