Wilma Jean (Weaver) Partney

December 12, 1933 — September 7, 2017

Wilma Jean (Weaver) Partney, age 83, of Stover went home to be with our Lord Thursday, September 7, 2017 in her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born December 12, 1933 in Winona, Missouri a daughter of Omer and Lula Reed Weaver. On May 22, 1954 Wilma was united in marriage to Norman Edward Partney in St. Louis, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2016.

She was a graduate from the Winona High School.

Wilma worked as a doctor’s receptionist for more than 25 years, retiring from Dr. Naidu’s office in South County St. Louis.

She was a faithful Christian woman, being a lifelong member of the 1st Baptist Church of Oakville. She was the beginners Sunday school teacher for many years and also helped out with Vacation Bible School.  As church seniors, Wilma and Norm enjoyed the senior group outings and fellowships with their church family.

Wilma and Norman moved to Stover to be closer to their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life and she loved playing with them. She was a wonderful and caring mother to her two children, Kevin and Kim and she was a devoted and loving wife to Norman for 62 years.

She is survived by one son, Kevin Partney and wife Sandy of Stover; one daughter, Kim Parker and husband Jim of Cole Camp; two sisters, Mona Lou Martin of Winona and Lena Johnston of the state of California; two grandchildren, Katie Palmer and husband Nick and Jessica Partney; and four great grandchildren, Allie Jo, Clayton, and Cole Palmer and Rilee Partney.

Along with her husband of 62 years and her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Pastor Tom Tuura officiating. The music selections are “Take My Hand”, “I’ll Fly Away”, and “Go Rest High on That Mountain”. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery. Kevin Partney, Nick Palmer, Clayton Palmer, Kenny Klein, Jim Parker, Josh Witte, and Ted Sartori will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Benton County Hospice.
