Bill Davidson, age 91, of Versailles died Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
It was on the 7th day of July in 1932 that Bill and Zelma (Campbell) Davidson welcomed their son, William John, into their family in Morgan County.
On September 19, 1953, Bill was united in marriage to Rosie Simmons at Jim Delong's house.
Bill was never one to shy away from work. He worked as a surveyor for Slagel Surveying, was a logger, and did construction.
He liked to be outdoors and was an avid hunter. This included deer, turkeys, mushrooms, and arrowheads. He liked to camp at the farm and ride ATVs. His greatest enjoyment came from his family and friends. They would enjoy him telling old stories or listening to him play the harmonica.
Left to carry on his legacy is his wife, Rosie, of seventy years, of the home; three sons, William "Bill" Dewayne Davidson, John Wesley Davidson and wife Margaret, and Donald Ray Davidson and wife Cindy all of Versailles; two daughters, Naomi Jean Cable of Sedalia and Kathryn Louise Hintt and husband Jeff of Versailles; a sister, Leta Fern Vogt; sixteen grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Irving Davidson; a grandson, Damien Davidson; a brother, Donald Eugene Davidson, and a sister, Anna May Davidson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover with Pastor Danny Owsley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home on until the service on Saturday.
