Wilbur Francis Quinlan

Wilbur Francis Quinlan, age 98 of Pilot Grove, Missouri passed away
Friday, December 21, 2018.

One of six children, Wilbur was born August 16, 1920 in Pilot Grove to
Raymond Wm. and Grace Elizabeth (Schuster) Quinlan. He graduated from
Pilot Grove High School in 1938, subsequently attending Barber College and
returned to Pilot Grove to begin barbering and continued that service to
this community until he was 89 years old. The only exception to that was
during WW II when Wilbur enlisted on September 8, 1942 into the United
States Maritime Service where he served as an instructor, reaching the
rank of Boatswain's Mate 1st Class. After his discharge January of 1946,
he returned to barbering in Pilot Grove, Misssouri.

On March 29, 1948, Wilbur married Alice Georgia (Lang) at St. Martin's
Catholic Church. They were blessed with three sons and over 52 years
together before her passing November 3, 2001.

Wilbur belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pilot Grove and Knights
of Columbus. He was a charter member of the Boonville Lion's Club. He was
passionate about fishing, dancing and a staunch fan and follower of the St. Louis
Cardinal baseball team.

August 2, 2003, Wilbur and Mary Caroline (McNulty) Fisher were married.

Those preceding Wilbur in death are his parents; his wife Alice and his
second wife Caroline; brother Earl Quinlan, grandson Daniel Quinlan; and
stepchildren Carol and Daniel Fisher.

Surviving Wilbur are his sons Jack Quinlan, Warren Quinlan and his wife
Patricia, both of Columbia, Missouri, Don Quinlan and his wife Barbra of
Florissant, Missouri; grandchildren Kevin and Jesse Quinlan; great
grandchildren Mirabella Quinlan; step children Steve Stonecipher-Fisher of
Columbia, Beci Hammond and her husband Mark of Sedalia, Missouri; step
grandchildren, Geoffrey Hammond, Joseph Hammond and his wife Alicia,
Matthew Fisher and his wife Jessica, Gabrielle Miner and her husband Mason
and Holly Jett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December
24, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, Missouri with
burial immediately following in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, also in
Pilot Grove. A visitation will be held Sunday. December 23, 2018 in the
afternoon from 3 to 5 P.M, also at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Memorials are suggested to Columbia Second Chance (an animal rescue organization).
