Walter Joseph Kowalkowski

Walter Joseph "Wally' Kowalkowski, age 74, of Urbana, formerly of Stover, died Monday, December 8, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born May 8, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Paul and Mary Kowalkowski.
He worked as a stationery engineer in boiler maintenance for large buildings in Chicago for 20 years.
He moved to Stover several years ago and co-owned and operated the Therapeutic Riding Center west of Stover, with his longtime companion Cheri Henry, who preceded him in death December 14, 2007.
He is survived by two sons, Bob Kowalkowski and his wife Jeannie of Elmhurst, Illinois and David Kowalkowski of Schiller Park, Illinois; two brothers, Ted Kowalkowski of Villa Park, Illinois and Don Kowalkowski of Tinley Park, Illinois; and two grandchildren, Melissa Kowalkowski and Robert Kowalkowski, Jr.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Kowalkowski was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 20, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
