Virginia L. “Pook” Stuedle, 68, of Otterville, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, surrounded by her family, after a three-year battle with cancer.

She was born July 10, 1954, in Sedalia, daughter of George “Mack” and Mildred Sue (McNeal) Oswald.

On July 15, 1972, in Otterville, she married Roger Stuedle, who survives of the home.

Virginia was a 1972 graduate of Otterville High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Otterville.

She owned and operated Pook’s Café in Otterville for several years, and had also worked at Veulemans’ Elevator, Hometown Café and Central Missouri Sales.

Pook had many friends and was good about doing things to bring people together. She was a member of Nifty Knitters and a few other “sister gangs.” She and Roger enjoyed many trips with his siblings and friends.

She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, playing on her computer, crocheting, and cooking. She was a loving daughter, wife, mom, “Grandma Pookie,” sister, and aunt, and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by two daughters, Val Schoen, and Carrie Schoen (Matt), of Otterville; her mother, Sue, of Otterville; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Bobbi Jo, Katie and Jake; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Oswald, Beverly Simmons, Paul Oswald, all of Otterville, and Frank Oswald, of Florence; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Otterville. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:45 p.m. Friday at the church.

Burial will be at a later date in Olive Branch Cemetery near Syracuse.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.

Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Otterville.
