Virginia F. Stone

Virginia F. Stone, 87, of Otterville, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia.

She was born September 26, 1933 in Boonville, MO, the only child of Edgar and Ethel (Schuster) Felten.

On October 11, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton City she married Robert “Bob” Stone, who preceded her in death on November 9, 2020.

Virginia graduated from Sacred Heart High School and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and attended the Sacred Heart Chapel in Sedalia.  She spent all her time taking care of and cooking for her family. Virginia enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales, washing clothes, and helping to raise her grandchildren.  She and Bob were known for their famous homemade chicken and noodles which everyone loved.

Survivors include nine children, Robert Joseph Stone (Sandra) of Vacaville, CA, Gary Dale Stone (Michele) of Otterville, MO, Cynthia Ann Knuth (Mark) of Stover, MO, Brenda Kay Hanger (Jerry) of Sedalia, MO, Jeffry Michael Stone (Leslie) of Sedalia, MO, David Keith Stone (Rebekah) of Sedalia, MO, Jerry Vincent Stone (Sharon) of Atlanta, GA, Julie Diane Kroeger (James) of Smithton, MO, and Michelle Denise Stone (Jeffrey) of Otterville, MO; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Bob of 68 years and both of her parents.

Visitation for Bob and Virginia will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Clifton City.  The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Heckart Funeral Home facebook page.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Association.
