Violet Simmons, 77, of Hughesville, MO, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
She was born March 12, 1945 in Versailles, MO, a daughter of John Franklin and Roxie Ellen (Willis) Hayes. On April 19,1958 she married Vincel D. Simmons who survives of the home.
Violet enjoyed canning vegetables, making homemade candy, crocheting and raising Poodles and Chihuahua's. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, survivors include, one son, David Simmons of Hughesville, MO; three daughters, Barbara Simmons of Tipton, MO, Beverly Fuller of Diamond, MO, and Tina Simmons of Tipton, MO; 16 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beth Jenkins of Russellville, MO; one brother Bob Willis of St. Charles, MO, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
In addition to both of her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Vincel Simmons, II; one son-in-law, Frank Fuller, I; maternal grandparents, Jim and Effie Hayes; paternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Willis; and eight brothers, Richard Willis, Albert Willis, Ralph Willis, Wesley Willis, Jimmy Willis, Ed Willis, Johnny Willis, and Wayne Willis; five sisters, Celia Jordan, Maxine Dick, Mary Lehman, Ruth Rabon, and Louise Willis.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Paul's Methodist Cemetery south of Stover.
