Verna M. Watring

Verna Mae Watring, age 93, of Otterville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove, Missouri.

Verna was born March 13, 1932, in Linn Creek, Missouri, a daughter of Hubert and Viola Ann (Hibdon) Arnold, who preceded her in death. She married Jewell Martin Watring on December 31, 1948 in Otterville, Missouri. Jewell preceded her in death on April 29, 1998.

Verna grew up in the Bunceton, Missouri area. She was a homemaker. She liked to crochet, read, and play cards. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Syracuse, Missouri.

She is survived by one brother, Donald Arnold, Boonville, Missouri; five children, Leonard Frank Watring (Karen) of Pilot Grove, Missouri, Ronald Hubert Watring of Otterville, Missouri, Michael Dean Watring (Kay Beth) of Boonville, Missouri, David Lee Watring (Nancy) of Blackwater, Missouri and Randy Martin Watring, of Pilot Grove, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Verna is preceded in death by one son, Thomas Jewell Watring; four siblings, Wilma Cornine, J.L. Arnold, Irene Larimore, and Edward Arnold; her daughter-in-law, Christy Watring; and one granddaughter, Kelly Marie Watring.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, where funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
