Ursula A.M. Bienert Lund

Ursula A.M. Bienert Lund, age 91, of Gravois Mills, Missouri passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Hospice House in Sun City, Florida.

She was born 30 July 1926 in Peine, Germany.

Ursula grew up in Germany, where she attended secondary school for nurses training.  She later came to the United States to work as a nurse in Kansas.

On 18 March 1966, Ursula was united in marriage to George Bernard Lund, and to this union one son, Johndrew, was born.  George preceded her in death 16 August 1972.

The Lund’s moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, making their home in Gravois Mills.  Ursula loved living at the lake!  She swam every day in the summer and beyond.  She prided herself in being the last one in the lake, swimming sometimes up into October.  She enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends, looked forward to evenings when she could build a fire, Ursula loved a good fire, and relax at her beloved lake home.

For several years Ursula worked as an associate for Walmart in Versailles; retiring so she could enjoy more time at the lake and be able to visit her son and his family in Florida.

She was a devoted mother to her son, raising him to be as independent as she was.  As her health recently began to fail, Ursula traveled to Florida to be closer to Johnie and his family.

She was a faithful, active member of the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Versailles.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Johndrew Steven and Tracey Lund of Florida; her granddaughter, Morgan Paige Lund; along with her neighbors, friends and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Igna Bienert.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Old St. Patrick’s Church on 810 Route O in Laurie, Missouri.  Inurnment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Morgan County Food Bank-Versailles Food Site, Inc.
