Thomas Glenn Briscoe

Thomas Glenn Briscoe, age 78, of Tipton, MO, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home.

Tom was born October 11, 1945, in Boonville, MO, the son of James and Wylma (Green) Briscoe, who preceded him in death.

He was married to the love of his life, Janett Carolynn Hopkins Briscoe, who preceded him in death November 19, 2023.

Tom worked in his earlier years as a farmer. He later sold cars and frame machines. He enjoyed driving truck and delivering the frame machines to automotive shops around the country.

Tom was a family man. He enjoyed taking his family camping and being a part of their lives. He was a member of Tipton United Methodist Church where he was very active and sang in the choir.

Tom served his county honorable in the United States Army in Germany.

Survivors include four children, Travis Briscoe (Shannon) of Archie, Traci Mortenson (David) of Jefferson City, Scott Briscoe of Lee’s Summit, and Joe Briscoe (Sara) of Vienna; two sisters, Dixie Shemell of Hot Springs, AR and Elaine Tyler of Halifax, Nova Scotia; eight grandchildren, Sidney, Cole, Taylor, Morgan, Elias, Dillon, Paige, and KarLeigh; four great-grandchildren, Oakley, Walker, Kallen, Kaisley, and two great-grandchildren on the way.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Collins; and best friend, David Orscheln.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 12, 2024, at Tipton United Methodist Church with Pastor Lynn Facemyer, officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until service time. Burial will take place at a later date.
