Thelma Lorraine Harris

Thelma L. Harris, age 89, of Russellville, died Thursday, January 15, 2009, at St. Joseph's Home in Jefferson City.
She was born June 1, 1919, in Millbrook, a daughter of Andrew and Mary E. Berry Blochberger, both deceased. On May 2, 1943, in St. Louis, she married John M. Harris, who preceded her in death June 14, 1994.
Thelma was a 1936 graduate of Russellville High School. As a young woman she worked as a nurse's aid at the Shriner's Hospital in St. Louis. After starting her family she was a homemaker and also provided babysitting services for local families.
She was a faithful member of the Russellville United Methodist Church. Thelma was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed embroidery, gardening and raising flowers.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Harris of Sedalia and Rick and Carol Harris of Wardsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Joel Clardy of Jefferson City; one sister, Roena Campbell, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Leslie and Kristen Harris, Jessica Brown and husband Nathaniel, Devin and Kelsey Harris, Meghan and Ryan Kirchner and Hannah and Hailey Clardy, one great grandson, Jayden Harris, a second great grandchild is due in March, also several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
One son, David Harris and four brothers, Ardley, Clark, Lyman and Aubrey Blochberger, also preceded her in death.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 20, at the Russellville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeannie Martin Webb officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 19, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Russellville UMC or the Enloe Cemetery.
