Steven M. Blevens

Steven M. "Steve" Blevens, age 54, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at St. Anthony Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born March 13, 1955, in San Luis Obispo, California, a son of Ivan and Betty Jean Baker Blevens. On November 6, 2004, Steve married his long time partner, Laura G. Hunter, at her father's home south of Versailles. Laura survives at their home.
He was a 1973 graduate of Versailles High School.
Steve worked as a groundskeeper at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Versailles, the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation,Westminster University in Fulton and retired from Carpenter-Guenther Lumber Company in Versailles.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, tinkering with his many projects, his new Harley Davidson and most of all being with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Julie and Walter Bryant of Parkville, Missouri and Jane and Rick Campbell of Cadiz, Kentucky; nephews and nieces, Brandon and Amber Campbell, Julian and Kenny Williams, Alex and Derrick Nolker, Audrey Bryant and Parker Bryant, also great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In keeping with his wishes, Steve was cremated. Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 6, at the Hunter plot in the Oak Park Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow at the Hunter Civic Center in Versailles. Steve would want everyone to feel comfortable, so casual attire is perfectly acceptable. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
