Shirley J. Marriott

Shirley J. Marriott, age 81, of Versailles passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 28, 2018 at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover. She was born September 13, 1936 in Versailles a daughter of Earl and Grace Caviness Whittle. Shirley married Loren Marriott and to this union one daughter was born. Shirley worked as a dietary manager for long term care facilities, retiring from the Kidwell Home in 2010. She enjoyed being at home, spending time with Morris and watching funny movies with her grandkids. Shirley was a devoted mother to Kelly and a very proud "Gigi"; her family was her biggest priority and being with them brought her the greatest joy. She is survived by her longtime partner, Morris Lammert of Versailles; her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Denny Gramke of Versailles; a brother, Earl Whittle, Jr. and wife Carol of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren, Zach Gramke and wife Maddie of Columbia and Lacy Herrelson and husband Tyler of Gravois Mills; three great grandchildren, Emersyn and Blair Gramke and Lila Herrelson; along with many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Whittle; two sisters, Velma Wolf and Carol Helton and her former husband, Loren Marriott. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
