Shannon Christine Niepman, 57, of Versailles, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at her home.
She was born on October 4, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri, the only child of Jules Vandermillion and Janice Smart.
On May 15, 1988, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eric Niepman, who survives of the home.
Shannon was a devoted member of the Children of Yahweh in Yahshua Messiah in Eldon. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was the foundation of her love for her family and community.
She had a passion for life’s simple joys — spending time in her garden, painting, doing puzzles, and getting lost in a good book. Shannon was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her creations during family barbecues and gatherings. She loved shopping trips, especially to thrift stores where she could always find hidden treasures. At home, she took great pride in raising her chickens and animals.
More than anything, Shannon cherished time with her family — especially her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her days. Her warmth, laughter, and loving nature will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband Eric of 37 years; four sons, Joshua Niepman and his wife Savannaha of Adrian, Sean Niepman of Kansas City, Nathan Niepman of Versailles, and Ethan Niepman and his wife Angela of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Abraham, Elizabeth, Isaiah, Emilyah, Hosea, and Maximus; and one very close aunt, Jean Smart of Kansas City.
In addition to both of her parents she was preceded in death by one grandson, Gabriel Niepman.
Graveside services will be held at the Eldon City Cemetery with Elder Howard Parsons officiating. **Graveside services date and times are pending.**
