Scott A. Reynolds, Sr.

Scott Allen Reynolds, Sr., 50, of Pilot Grove, passed away peacefully March 3, 2022, at home with his wife.

He was born September 25, 1971, in Columbia, MO, son of Charles Lee Reynolds and Melissa (Reynolds) Sword.

On November 7, 1992, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, he married Sandra Lynn Tavenner. Scott and Sandra were married 29 years and were blessed with two children.

Scott was a 1991 graduate of Boonville High School. Scott worked for Oerly farms and as an autobody/mechanic for several major autobody businesses (Floyd’s Autobody, Perry Legend, Pilot Grove Autobody, Schilby’s, McCarthy of Sedalia, and Joe Machens) for years. He also owned/operated Reynolds Automotive in Pilot Grove for several years as well. He was an avid supporter of the Boonville and Pilot Grove FFA and the Cooper County Fair.

Scott loved to farm, fish, play golf, ride 4-wheelers, impromptu visits to the beach, and most importantly play with his granddaughters.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, newborn brother and foster parents, Gary and Frankie Gamel.

Scott is survived by his wife, Sandra of the home, son Scott Reynolds, Jr. (Bridgett) of Jamestown and daughter Whitney Turpin (Dereck) of Grain Valley; Granddaughters Adeline Marie Turpin and Brynlee Jean Reynolds; Grandson Baby Turpin due in two weeks; mother-in-law, Kathleen Meisenheimer of Pilot Grove; Larry Oerly who Scott called “dad;” stepfather, Jerry Sword of Seville, OH; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Stoecklein (Andy) of Eldon, MO, Laura Franklin (Aaron) of Columbia, MO; brother-in-law, Bobby Tavenner (Michelle) of Pilot Grove, MO; his foster siblings, Scott Gamel (Valerie) of Boonville, MO, Judy Barnhart (Donnie) of Boonville, MO, and Cheri Miller (Jay) Louisville, KY; halfsisters Becky Plattner of Malta Bend, MO, Tammy Sassman (Jimmy) of Cole Camp, MO, and Shannon Cox of Golden, CO; as well as several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends Chad Ross (Alyson and family), Brian Frieling (Stacy), Mark Wells (Shannon), Sam Ross (Trish and family), and many more.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dereck Turpin, Bobby Tavenner, Andy Stoecklein, Aaron Franklin, Jay Gerling, Alex Scott, Garrett Young, Kenny Renfrow, Matt Townlain, Scott Blank, Jacob Imhoff, Chad Ross, Brian Frieling, Mark Wells, Randy Shadwick, Sam Ross, Tony Gerling, Dale Blank and Charlie Blank.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Pilot Grove, where a prayer service will be held at 2:00 p.m.

A private burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
