Ruth E. Williams 83 of Stover died Sunday January 7, 2018 at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.

She was born May 18, 1934 in Crest. She was the daughter of Charles Vansell and Georgia (Miller) Vansell. On October 13, 1959 she was united in marriage to George Lee Williams.

Ruth worked at Primo Pant factory for several years. She was a homemaker up until the time her and Lee purchased Nustyle Quilting Machines in December 1972. Over the years working in the business they watched it grow from a small mail order business to the largest quilt shop in the Midwest. They manufactured several different styles of Quilting Machines and serviced them and other models on the market. They offered all types of quilt supplies and they developed lifelong friendships.

She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Versailles teaching Sunday school for over 55 years. She served as Missions Coordinator & supported many missionaries thru the years. She was a member of the Gideons International since 1984 and received recognition for handing out the most bibles in a year. Attending church singing in church and sharing the gospel was her lifelong passion.

She was proceeded in death by her father & mother Charles Vansell and Georgie (Miller) Vansell; an infant sister; daughter Rita Kay her husband Lee; four brothers Kenneth Alvin, Clayton,Frank & Larry Vansell; one brother-in-law Jim Wilcox; four sister-in-laws Marcella, Lucille, Sue & Bonnie Vansell; and two nephews Michael Smith & Michael Vansell.

She is survived by two children and their spouses, Billie and Randy Fischer of Boonville and Lora and Tom Dale of Stover; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Dale of Cape Giradeau, Isaiah Dale of Stover, Gabriel and Kristen Fischer of Columbia, Jordan Fischer of Boonville, Brittany and Kyle Snoddy of Georgetown Cayman Island, and Bridgett Fischer of Boonville; four great grandchildren, Gracie Dale of Stover, Miah Dale of Harrisburg, Mikhael and Malakhi Fischer of Columbia; four brothers, Bill and Martha Vansell of Lee’s Summit, Raymond Vansell of Stover, Leonard and Linda Vansell of Blue Springs, and Darrell and Debbie Vansell of Versailles; two sisters, Frances Wilcox of Sedalia and Patty and Don Smith of Bates City; two sister-in-laws Lois Vansell of Versailles and Sue Hartzel of Arizona; two brother-in-laws, Jimmy Dale and wife Cheryl Williams of Tarpon Springs, Florida and Billy Clay and wife Marilyn of Bucyrus, Kansas; and many more family and friends.

Ruth loved spending time with her children, grandchildren family & friends.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the First Assembly of God Church in Versailles with Pastor Randy Fischer and Pastor John Fransisco officiating. Interment will be at Union-Williams Cementary in Cole Camp. Jeremiah Dale, Isaiah Dale, Gabriel Fischer, Jordan Fischer, Larry Pryor, and Donald Marriott are serving as casketbearers.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gideons Auxiliary.
