Ruth Venita Niece

Ruth Venita (Hayes) Niece, 94, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Shangri-La Living Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.

She was born in Clear Creek, Missouri as one of 3 children born to Arthur and Trellice (Drennen) Hayes. She was a graduate of the Pilot Grove High School Class 1938 and had resided in Stanley, Idaho for 42 years before moving to Blue Springs 5 years ago to be near her family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack Niece; son Ronald L. Brownfield; and sister Virginia Stoecklein.

She is survived by son Jim Brownfield and his wife Sandy of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; daughter Jeanette Barnes and her husband Mike of Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter-in-law Phyllis Brownfield of Pilot Grove, Missouri; grandchildren Rhonda Kusgen, Eric Thomas, Wade Thomas, Ken Brownfield, Jason Brownfield, Kevin Brownfield; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother Earl Hayes and his wife Doris of Pilot Grove.

Memorial funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove with visitation beginning at 10:00 prior to the service. Burial will take place in the Pilot Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Community Church of Pilot Grove in care of the funeral home.
