Ruby Virginia Knipp

November 22, 1923 — January 29, 2018

Ruby Virginia Knipp, age 94 of Tipton, Missouri passed away Monday evening with family by her side at Tipton Oak Manor.

Ruby was born November 1923 near Bunceton, Missouri to Louis Frank and Anna Laura Rogers Watring. She grew up in the area graduating from Syracuse High School. Around 1943, while attending a dance at the log cabin in Syracuse, she met George Wm. Richardson who was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood for a time and was passing through. In 1944, the two were married. They resided in Atlanta, Georgia and were blessed with three children. Early in 1957 the family moved back to Tipton. Ruby’s husband died unexpectedly in November of 1957 leaving Ruby to finish raising her family alone. She went to work at Weber Shoe Co. in Tipton for the next 10 years.

Ruby became Mrs. Louis O. Knipp, Jr. in 1968 which immediately enlarged her family. She and Louis were happily married until his passing in 1991.

Though she had some rough times, Ruby loved life and was very active. Some of her favorite activities were bowling, square dancing and playing cards with friends. She played a big part in caring for her grandkids and great-grandkids, loving every minute of it.
