Ruby C. Harms, age 102, passed away November 19, 2019, at Ridge Crest Nursing Home in Warrensburg where she had lived for many years.
She was born March 31, 1917, on the family farm at Little Buffalo south of Stover, the youngest of six children born to John and Dora Ebeling Harms.
As a young woman, Ruby moved to Kansas City where she worked for various families in the area. She then went to work for Hallmark in their corporate headquarters before joining Puritan Bennett Corporation; retiring in 1985, after 33 years of employment.
She enjoyed living on the Country Club Plaza. Ruby was a United Methodist, belonging to the Stover UMC as a young girl.
Survivors include a niece, Pat Turner of Knob Noster; two nephews, Melvin Miller and wife Marie of Independence and Robert Denker of California; along with many great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William Harms, four sisters, Bessie Denker, Mae Miller, Mabel Harms and Alice Harper, a nephew-in-law, Jack Turner and a niece-in-law, Elora Denker.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Rev. Tom Tuura officiating.
