Ruben Rubio, Jr.

Ruben Rubio, Jr., 65, of Stover, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.

He was born December 10, 1955, in Alice, TX, a son of Ruben O. Rubio, Sr. and Ovidia Garza.  On August 28, 2001, in Plainview, TX, he married Debbie Nevares who survives of the home.

Ruben started working at the age of 15 at Bob Gardners Chevrolet, then at Ring Around Seed Company and Pioneer as a welder.  He played for many years with a lot of different bands as a drummer even playing the drums for Big Rock Church.  Ruben moved to Stover, MO, and worked as a butcher at G2M in Stover, the Sawmill and retired as a custodian from the Morgan County RI School District in Stover.  Some of the things Ruben enjoyed doing was fishing, antique shopping, watch his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys, spending time with his family and watching and listening to Gospel Music on TV.  Ruben also loved his animals, loved helping people in need and also loved anything with Eagles on it.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; five sons, Ruben Rubio III of Sedalia, Rico Soto of Kansas City, MO, Robert Nevares and his wife Barbara, Jason Nevares and his wife Ann-Marie, and Edward Soto, Jr. all of Texas; four daughters, Valerie Soto of Stover, Crystal Pedroza and her husband Joe, Sandra Rubio and Sulema Rubio all of Texas; granddaughter, Elah Soto and seventeen more; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Richard Rubio and his wife Maria of Texas, Rudy Rubio and his wife Maria of Ohio; two sisters, Becky Branderhorst and her husband, Mike of Eldon, MO, and Diana Sanchez of Texas.

In addition to both of his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Rubio and Domingo Rubio; one sister, Elsa Rubio; two grandchildren, Kaleb and Kaylee Soto.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at the funeral home in Stover with burial to follow at the Big Rock Cemetery in Barnett, MO.
