Rose Marie (Allison) Dick came into this world, the youngest child of C.B. and Rosie (Wear) Allison, on March 28, 1954. Throughout her life Rose was known for causing good trouble; whether that was endlessly pestering her older siblings, sneaking Christmas trees into Tipton High School through the bathroom window, acquiring spatulas from a well-known pizza establishment, or dancing on tables to her favorite songs.
While Rose was the life of the party most days, the thing that defined her best was her dedication to her family. She took nothing more seriously than her roles of wife, mother, and nana. Rose married the love of her life, Danny, shortly after graduating from Tipton High School in 1972. They would go on to have four children, Matt, Mandy, Marshall, and Michelle, and settle down in Tipton for the remainder of their lives. During this time Rose dedicated her life to raising her children, spending countless hours supporting their various activities and hobbies. She served the Tipton community as a member of the school board to ensure that her children and others in the district would receive the best education possible. But nothing gave Rose more joy than her role as Nana; her heart was the fullest when surrounded by her family.
Over the past decade, Rose’s affinity for causing good trouble would be slowed by Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, but her love and dedication for her family would remain until she took her last breath on April 6, 2024.
Rose Marie (Allison) Dick, 70, of Tipton, died April 6, 2024 peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on March 28, 1954, the youngest daughter of C.B. and Rosie (Wear) Allison.
Rose is survived by three children, Mandy Britton, Marshall Dick (Angie), and Michelle Lewis (Chris); ten grandchildren, Kennedy Callahan (Trinity), Preston Dick, Kameron Dick, Jonathan Pardoe, Maura Pardoe, Emily Anderson (Landon), Lindsay Britton, Kodie Dick, Anna Dick, and Eliana Lewis; four great grandchildren, Millie Anderson, Tatum Anderson, Braxton Callahan, and Lennox Callahan; two siblings, Cecilia Dunham and Steve Allison (Budgie).
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, C.B. and Rosie (Wear) Allison; her brother, Larry Allison; her husband, Danny Dick; her son, Matt Dick; her son-in-law, Scott Britton, and brother in-law, John Dunham.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton. Private burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery at a later date.
