Ronnie Weicken

Ronnie Weicken, age 57, of Versailles passed away Friday, November 5, 2021.

It was on the 10 th day of September in 1964 when Raymond O. and Mable A. Weicken welcomed their sweet boy, Ronald Allen, into their loving home.

Stover school has always held a special place in Ronnie’s heart because he was a 1984 graduate from Stover High School.

On September 22, 1990 Ronnie was united in marriage to Angela R. Markum in Versailles, who survives at their home.

Everyone that met Ronnie would describe him as loving and caring. Some even saying, “the best”. He was bigger than life but also could be stubborn at times. His life will be remembered by his family and the peoples whose life he touched.

Ronnie liked to always be doing something. He liked hunting, fishing, and sports. From time to time you would find his son out fishing or coon hunting with him. In years past he wasn’t just a spectator of sports but a coach. His daughters numerous basketball teams throughout her time playing the sport you would find him on the bench yelling out plays and directions. Though his biggest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his loving family and spoiling his grandbabies.

Ronnie worked for MFA Oil for 20 years and 9 years for All Star Gas as a propane truckdriver. He also drove a bus route for the Versailles School District in years past and was the activities bus driver for Stover School District.

Friday night he saved for date night, which meant no MFA uniform, nice jeans, and shirt with his wife Angie. They would almost always be at local restaurants in Versailles and Stover, but Changes and Ambush were their favorites.

Left to carry on his legacy is his wife, Angela; his daughter, Chelsi Weicken and her significant other Travis Kurtz; his son, Cory Weicken; his two wonderful grandchildren, Gage Kurtz and Ella Weicken-Kurtz all of Versailles; parents, Raymond and Mable Weicken of Versailles; a brother, Wesley Weicken of Versailles; sister, Sherry Williams of Tipton; along with numerous brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Rusty Williams.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Fortuna Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Homan officiating and Brad Pepper reading the eulogy. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Fortuna Baptist Church, Stover Bulldog Athletics or the Shop with a Cop program in Stover or Versailles.
