Ronald Benton Brown, age 71 of Tipton passed away at home, surrounded by his family in the early morning hours of July 26, 2017.

He was born September 28, 1945 to William H. Brown and Betty V. McMullin in Sedalia, Mo. Ronnie was a 1963 graduate of Otterville High School. After graduation he joined the US Navy and actively served his country aboard the USS Salisbury Sound. He also served in Viet Nam as the driver of a gun boat. After he was discharged from the Navy in 1966, Ronnie attended State Fair Community College and received an Associates Degree in Business Management. He continued his education by attending classes at MO State University in Warrensburg.

While Ronnie was on leave in 1965, he and Janet Virginia Richardson were married August 24th and together raised a family of two sons and two daughters. Ronnie and Janet made their home in Tipton in 1969 and have lived in this community ever since. He was a Line Engineer for Como Electric for many years.

Ronnie served his community as East Ward Alderman for years, belonged to the local VFW and American Legion. He and Janet groomed dogs for over 30 years. They also enjoyed auctions and were especially fond of Ducks Unlimited and National Wild Turkey Federation artwork.

Ronnie was extremely friendly and known to strike up lengthy conversations with people no matter where he was. He enjoyed life and good humor, which made working the gate at the Missouri State Fair for over 20 years especially enjoyable for him.

Stark of Otterville, Missouri; sons Carl Brown and his wife Dawn of Springfield, Missouri and Cale Brown and his wife Ashley of California, Missouri; daughters Lisa Buerky and her husband Brad of Tipton and Leslie Miller and her husband Roger of Sedalia, Missouri; sisters Jill Oser and Carla Helmig, both of Otterville; grandchildren Maranda, Hunter, Keely, Caleb, Janna, Benton, Logan, Evan, Byron and Caylee; great grandchild Piper; and mother-in-law Ruby V.
