Ron Hyer, age 61, of Stover, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Born on November 24, 1962, in Douglasville, Georgia, Ron was known for his strong work ethic. He dedicated twenty-one years of his life as a turkey farm breeder and an additional twenty years as an over the road truck driver, until his health started to fail him. Alongside these jobs, he worked tirelessly on his home farm, where he raised cattle.
A devoted member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church, Ron was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and a true friend to many. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.
Ron is survived by his mother, Louise Hyer Harris (Jerry); two sons, Brandon Johnson (Jessica) and Mason Johnson; three daughters, Misti Toeler, Melinda Davidson, and Mary Bilachi; one brother, James Hyer; stepbrother, Jeremy Harris (Kendra); stepsister, Bonnie Bedwell (Leroy); fifteen grandchildren; two nieces and four nephews; along with numerous friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his father, James B. Hyer and younger brother, Donnie Cook.
A visitation will be Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Trinity Southern Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Gary Patterson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
