Roger Clark Yarnell

January 15, 1953 — January 27, 2009

Roger Clark Yarnell, age 56, of Syracuse, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at his home.
He was born January 15, 1953, in California a son of Mack and Geraldine Volkart Yarnell.
He married Betty Callaway and to this union five children were born. Betty survives in California.
On January 10, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Roger married Patricia Griffing Hayes and she survives at their home.
He was employed as a foreman for Howard Construction in Sedalia for more than 20 years.
Roger greatest enjoyment came from the time he could spend with Pat, whether it was just the two of them fishing or spending time together with family and friends. He enjoyed cooking for his family, taking pictures and working in the garden. He also loved caring for his best buddy, Toby, his Shih Tzu dog.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin Yarnell and Bobby Nelson, both of California; five daughters, Jana Yarnell and husband Angel Leyva of California; Lorie Nelson of Jefferson City; Kaylea Callaway of California; Karla Reeder of Lebanon and Rebecca Hughs of Blackburn; one sister-in-law, Cleo Yarnell of California; eleven grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mathew, Ashley, Aaron, Andrea, Jenna, Christopher, Malin, Alora, and Britney, his wife's family, Gail Griffing, Bill and Linda Griffing, Wanda Sue Carver, Linda Warren, and Marlene and Dwight Schroder, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Connie Mack Yarnell, a grandson, Stephen Hayes, a brother-in-law, Clarence Griffing, Jr., and a sister-in-law, Connie Winnie.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the Florence United Methodist Church with Brother Don Dearixson officiating. Burial will be in the Florence United Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Saturday at the church.
