Roger L. Burke

February 19, 1936 — May 20, 2022

Roger Lee Burke, 86, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, in Sedalia.

He was born February 19, 1936, in Benton County, son of Clarence E. and Jessie (Blackman) Burke.

In December 1955, he married Janice (Braden). On October 11, 1980, he married Connie (Carver).

Roger served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean War. He was a bus driver for Morgan County R-1 for 30 years. He was also an auctioneer from 1967 to 2007. Roger enjoyed fishing, going to auctions and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Connie, of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Wolf (Bryan) of Holts Summit; two sons, Roger Loren Burke (Mary) of Warsaw, and Brian Burke (Mary Jo) of Edwardsville, IL; a stepson, Heath Harms (Shelly) of Mendon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Wilma Jean Chandler, Diane Tebbencamp, Marsha Boeschen and Michelle Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Leon Parker; step mother, Helen Burke; and a sister, Carol Sue Weigel.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover. There will be no visitation. Private burial will be at a later date in Florence UMC Cemetery.
