Rita Jane Cummins

Rita Jane Cummins, age 49, of Versailles, passed away peacefully, Friday night, January 25, 2008, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was born August 8, 1958, in Leavenworth, Kansas a daughter of Robert Dwayne and Rose Mary Schultz Pfrimmer. Her mother, Rose M. Starling, survives in Sunrise Beach.
For many years, she was a homemaker, busy raising her three children. For the past ten years she worked at Gerbes in Versailles, where she was a department manager until the store closed. Rita enjoyed fishing, drinking tea at her sister's tea house and the outdoors, where she could watch bluebirds, butterflies and enjoy her favorite flower, the zinnia.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her three children, Tracy Lynn Black and husband John of Joplin; Samuel Ballard Cummins III and Kate Ann Cummins both of Versailles; her fiancé, Gary Staniforth and his daughter, Michelle, of Versailles; four sisters, Reba Starling-Silvey and husband Terry of Versailles; Roseann Klotz of Leavenworth, Kansas; Roberta Wilson and husband Dr. Donald Wilson, Weston, Missouri and Regina Steuterman of Wellsville, Kansas; one brother, Bill Seber of Shawnee, Kansas; three grandsons, Quentin, Connor and Adrien Black, also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Robert Pfrimmer, her stepfather, James A. Starling, Sr., and a brother, James A. Starling, Jr.
Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 28, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Deacon Paul Poulter officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, January 28, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
A grave side service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 29, at the Versailles Cemetery.
