Rita Arlene Bachman

September 5, 1925 — April 27, 2018

Rita Arlene Bachman, age 92, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Friday evening, April 27, 2018, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.

She was born September 5, 1925, in Topeka, a daughter of Harold Ralph and Marguerite Davis.  On February 10, 1944, in Topeka, Rita was united in marriage to Ray Bachman who preceded her in death in April of 2013.

She was a 1943 graduate of Topeka High School.

Rita enjoyed working in retail, her employers through the years were Stanley Flowers, Macys and Dillards all located in Topeka.

She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Topeka.

Rita enjoyed the time she could spend working in her garden.  She was known for her feisty disposition and enjoyed life to its fullest.  For the past several years she has resided in an assisted living facility and was a joy to everyone there with her bright outlook on life, her determination and her independence.  As her health began to decline she moved to Stover to be near her daughter and son-in-law.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Bill Hodgson of Woodinville, Washington and Harold and Jane Lane of Stover; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, along with other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Rita was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Davis, her mother, Marguerite Fleetwood, one son, David Bachman and one brother Bud Davis.

In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated.  Private services will be held in Topeka with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
