Rick Hansen

Rick E. Hansen, age 70, of Versailles passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Care Center.

He was born June 7, 1948 to Errett and Doris Richards Hansen in Denver, Colorado. On January 13, 1977 he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Janice Marie Short Hansen, who preceded him in death on March 4, 2018.

Rick served his country in the United States Army and later went on to work for Rockwell International in California making airplane parts.

He enjoyed golfing, wood working, and watching the Rams and the Chiefs play on Sundays. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and his wife. Rick and Jan enjoyed many things together; among them was antique buying. He was a collector of old time scales and pendulum clocks that chimed, but their collection grew to include Chine sets and much more.

He is survived by one daughter, Melanie Curry of Versailles; two grandchildren, Dylan Clark of Sedalia and Ryan Morris of Georgia; one sister, Barb VanRanken; two nephews, Bill and Bryan Yorker; and one niece, Tanya Robels all of the state of California.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

In keeping with his wishes he was cremated and no services are planned.
