Richard Joseph Cotriss

Richard Joseph Cotriss, 74, of Tipton, MO passed away December 11, 2020.

He was born May 31, 1946 in San Diego, CA, a son of Joseph A. Jr. and Doris Maire (Palmer) Cotriss.

On April 24, 1970 he married Mary Ellen Lutz at St. Andrew’s Church in Tipton, MO.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Upland High School, Upland CA. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Richard retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation as a construction inspector. He enjoyed woodworking and playing billiards.

In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen, of 50 years, survivors include three children, Christopher J. Cotriss (Lillian) of Ivy Bend, MO, Scott A. Cotriss (Jessica) of Laredo, TX, and Amy M. Russell (T.J.) of Park Hills, MO; one grandson, Eian Russell also of Park Hills; one brother, David; and two sisters, Susan Hall and Giovanna Miller.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph and Larry.

Due to the current Covid situation, services for Richard will be private. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery in Tipton.
