Rev. Troy Van Payne

Rev. Troy Van Payne, 75, of Bella Vista, AR, formerly of Florence, MO passed on to his heavenly reward, Monday, May 9, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.

He was born February 6, 1947, in Florence, MO, to Roy Lee and Beula Bernice (Homan) Payne, who preceded him in death.

On May 13, 1967, he was united in marriage to Delores Faye Birge, who preceded him in death March 4, 2009.

Troy began his pastoral ministry at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Florence, MO. He served as pastor of many Baptist churches across Missouri. He enjoyed raising registered Redbone dogs and coon hunting. He also loved watching basketball and eating ice cream and peach cobbler with his grandkids.

He is survived by five children and their spouses, Patricia and Mark Freemyer of Appleton City, MO, Tracy Payne of Syracuse, MO, Terry and Kristina Payne of Florence, MO, Rebecca Payne of Bella Vista, AR, and Robin and Thomas Perez of Titusville, FL; three sisters, Joyce Ruth Shaffer, of Excelsior Springs, MO, Beula Jean Hagood (David), of Grand Bury, TX, and Cheryl Lou Edwards (Tom), of Syracuse, MO; twelve beloved grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alta Lee (Payne) Williams and brother, Rev. Gary Dale Payne.

Funeral Services be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 20, 2022, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Florence, MO, with Pastor Bill Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO.

Pallbearers will be Danny Stemberger, Clancy Edwards, Tony Carver, Kelly Carver, Trent Donohue, and Charley Homan.

Memorials are suggested to Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
