Ralph Lemler

September 15, 1932 — September 19, 2020

Stover native, Ralph Lemler passed away Saturday morning, September 19, 2020, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.

Ralph was born September 15, 1932, in Mora, the only son of Carl and Rita Marie White Lemler.

He grew up on the farm near Stover, which began a lifelong love of farming.

For many years Ralph kept Smithson’s Inc. in Stover running, providing day to day maintenance and custodial care to the building and machines.

Ralph’s faith was an important part of his life and was evident in how he approached everything he did.  He was baptized into the Lutheran faith and confirmed on Palm Sunday, March 30, 1947, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Stover, where as an adult he provided custodial services and was the bell ringer for services at the church.

His greatest enjoyment was spending time on his farm and he loved the opportunity to take kids fishing at his pond.  When he wasn’t farming he could be found in his workshop, busy making craft items to share with family and friends.  He had a talent for working with wood, however, his favorite was cedar.

Anyone who knew Ralph knew he loved to visit and it didn’t take long for him to strike up a conversation with anyone who was willing to talk.

Survivors include one granddaughter, Leslie Jackson of Sedalia; two great grandchildren, Cesley Paredes and Jesse Paredes III, two sisters, Virgie Holsten of Stover and Marian Ehlers of Sedalia; a daughter-in-law, Susan Lemler Meyer of Sedalia; along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Paul F. Lemler and one sister Dorine Balke
