Ralph C. Kirchner

Ralph C. Kirchner, age 88, of Lohman, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at the Riverview Nursing Home in Mokane.
He was born November 3, 1928, on the family farm in Lohman, a son of August and Elsie Ritter Kirchner. On December 29, 1956, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson City, Ralph was united in marriage to Helen Meller, who preceded him in death October 21, 2010.
He was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson City High School.
Ralph served in the Missouri Army National Guard for several years.
In 1994, after more than 35 years of employment, Ralph retired from the Missouri Department on Elementary and Secondary Education as Printing Supervisor.
He was a longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Russellville.
Ralph greatest enjoyment came from being on his farm, where he could be outdoors working on the land and tending to his cattle. He never knew a stranger and was always ready to share a story with anyone he met.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Kirchner and wife Marlene of Lohman and Randy Kirchner and fiancée Jeane Miller of Russellville; one sister, Margaret Norment and husband James of Jefferson City; a brother-in-law, Pat Meller; a sister-in-law, Marie Hentges; seven grandchildren, Jason Kirchner and wife Brandi, Meghan Dudenhoeffer and husband Ryan, Aaron Kirchner, Amanda Kirchner, Zach Kirchner and wife Erika, Ryan Kirchner and wife Chelsea and Savannah Kirchner, six great grandchildren, Jace, Allie and Emma Kirchner, Grady Dudenhoeffer, Kinsley Kirchner and Aiden Kirchner, with his seventh great grandchild due in March, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Kirchner and one brother, Raymond Kirchner.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Russellville. Interment will be in the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, at the church.
