Perry A. Seidel

Perry A. Seidel, age 44, of St. Thomas, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born August 7, 1964, in Jefferson City, a son of H.F. and Doris Plochberger Seidel, who survive in Lohman. On April 4, 1992, at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, he married Lorri Ham, of Montgomery City. She survives at their home.
He was a 1982 graduate of Russellville High School and a 1984 graduate of Linn Technical College, with a degree in drafting.
Perry was a structural specialist in the bridge division of MODOT, where he had been employed for 25 years.
He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown. Perry loved muscle cars and was a longtime member of the Capital Cruisers. He also enjoyed bowling on the St. Thomas Bowling team. He was an accomplished woodworker, enjoyed collecting matchbox and die-cast cars, coins and Anheuser-Busch steins. He loved being outdoors where he could cut wood or ride on his tractor. His greatest enjoyment came from being with his family, especially the time he could spend with his two girls.
He is also survived by his two daughters, Karinna and Alyssa Seidel of the home; his maternal grandmother, Olinda Plochberger of Lohman; a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Donna Seidel of Lohman; a sister and brother-in-law, Janene and Jerry Schulte of Russellville; nephews and a niece, Cody, Jacob and Caleb Seidel and Khala and Austin Schulte, his mother and father-in-law, Vernon and Florence Ham of Montgomery City; Lorri's brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Dee Ham of Florence, Kentucky; special friends, Bill and Sue Ann Loesch and their son Nicholas, who is Perry and Lorri's godson, and Brenda and Sam Schell and their family, also aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown with Pastor Warren Brandt officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Karinna and Alyssa Seidel memorial fund.
