Peggy Allen

Peggy Smith Allen, age 86, of Florence died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.

She was born December 29, 1932, in Texas County, Missouri a daughter of Othello John and Eva Grace Brookshire Smith.  On January 15, 1973 in Miami, Oklahoma, Peggy was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Allen who survives at their home.

She retired as an insurance clerk for Allstate Insurance Company.

In her spare time Peggy worked in ceramics, enjoyed puzzles, going square dancing and most of all rooting for her beloved Kansas City Chiefs.

In addition to her husband of 46 years, she is survived by three siblings, Colleen Marie Smith Medley, Eloise Elizabeth Smith Ward and Samuel Kenneth Smith, along with other relatives and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Cleara Lee Steelman, James Lindwood Smith and Beluah Grace Smith.

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated.  Private inurnment will take place at a later date. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to your favorite charity.
