> Pearl A. Battles, 99, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri passed away
> Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Excelsior Springs Medical Center just
> 1 month before her 100th birthday. She was born in Tipton, Missouri
> to Martin and Clara Battles who happily welcomed her as their 5th
> child.
> She worked in Tipton before moving to Kansas City where she worked
> for Hallmark Cards before retiring in 1980.

> Pearl loved to travel and was an active member of the Brownie
> Camera Club. She was also an avid canasta player. She was very
> active for many years at the Visitation Parish in Kansas City where
> she walked to daily Mass, led the Rosary, and performed many
> volunteer activities throughout the years. After moving to
> Excelsior Springs 6 years ago to be near family she became a member
> of the St. Ann's parish.

> She was preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings; a niece
> and 2 nephews.

> Pearl is survived by sister-in-law Alma Battles of Tipton; 16
> nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; many
> great-great-nieces and nephews; many great-great-great nieces and
> nephews; and friends throughout the world with whom she corresponded.

> Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 AM June 4, 2015 at St.
> Andrews Church, Tipton, Missouri with Father Fred Elskamp as
> celebrant and burial to follow in St. Andrews Cemetery, Tipton.
> Pallbearers will be John Kirchmeyer, Jr., Larry Sander; Mike
> Battles; Joe Battles; Gary Battles and Mike Heath.

> A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service.

> Meisenheimer Funeral Home of Tipton is in charge of the arrangements.
