Paula Meta Koester

July 11, 1912 — June 23, 2008

Paula Meta Koester, age 95, a lifelong resident of the Stover community, died Monday afternoon, June 23, 2008, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born July 11, 1912, at Stover, a daughter of Henry T. and Margaretha Rathjen Heimsoth. She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church-Pyrmont.
On April 21, 1935, Paula was united in marriage to Arthur F. Koester at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover. Arthur preceded her in death April 13, 1987.
She was a homemaker, busy raising her two children. She was member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover.
Paula is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Koester of Stover; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Lou and Arnold Hughes of Texarkana, Texas; three grandchildren, James Koester and wife Jill of St. Louis; Amy Wood and husband Shannon of Springfield and Carlotta Endsley and husband David of Nash, Texas; six great grandchildren, Clinton Endsley of Nash, Texas; Taron Endsley and wife Beth of Bryant, Texas; Tucker, Tanner and Jace Koester of St. Louis and Caelyn Wood of Springfield; two step-great grandchildren, Payton Robb of Sedalia and Airis Walje of St. Louis; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Heimsoth and two sisters, Mabel Von Holten and Hulda Bockelman.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 27, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Cecil Murdock officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Stover with David Endsley, James Koester, Shannon Wood, Armond Fischer, Bruce Heerboth and Steven Koester serving as casket bearers and Clinton Endsley, Taron Endsley, Tucker Koester, Tanner Koester, Jace Koester, Orville Heimsoth, Oliver Heimsoth, Marvin Bockelman and Larry Shireman serving as honorary bearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26, at the new Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran School or the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
