Oscar F. Rockelman

Oscar F. Rockelman, age 89, of Lohman, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born February 3, 1919, in Russellville, a son of Charley and Louise Hoffman Rockelman. He married Orlean Kirchner, July 11, 1954, at St. Johns Lutheran Church at Stringtown, and she survives at their home.
He was an Army veteran, serving his country during World War II. He retired from Caterpillar, after more than thirty years of employment.
Oscar and Orlean returned to the Lohman area in 1986, after residing in Peoria, Illinois.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville, VFW Post 1003 in Jefferson City and the UAW Local 974. Oscar enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dale Dusheke of Lohman; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rockelman of Russellville; two grandchildren, Emilie Woodruff and husband Matt and Dana Dusheke and fiancé Jason Anderson and four great grandchildren, Richard, Ashlie, Marissa and Briana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Edna Heidbreder and two brothers, Wilbert and August Rockelman.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 7, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville with Pastor David Carlson officiating. Interment will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville.
