Oscar Michael Jungmeyer

Oscar Michael Jungmeyer, age 90, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
He was born October 7, 1918, in Lohman, a son of Mathias and Augusta Fischer Jungmeyer. He was united in marriage to Esther Ott on January 1, 1942, at the Honey Creek parsonage. Esther preceded him in death November 17, 2007.
He was a lifelong cattle and crop farmer.
Oscar was baptized October 27, 1918 and confirmed April 17, 1932 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman.
He was a charter member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, serving as church Elder and President and vice-president of the Voter's Assembly for several years.
He enjoyed being on his farm, old cars, tractors, and in the past few years working in his garden.
Survivors include one son, Bob Jungmeyer of Jefferson City; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kenny Hall of Jefferson City; a daughter-in-law, Elena Jungmeyer of Jefferson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Julius and Alice Jungmeyer of Russellville; one sister, Lydia Ott of Lohman; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Jungmeyer, a daughter-in-law, Jackie Jungmeyer, and one sister, Agnes Kautsch.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Sunday, January 25, at Peace Lutheran Church south of Jefferson City with Pastor Erik Gernander officiating. Interment will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Saturday, January 24, at the Peace Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Peace Lutheran Church Improvement Fund. Arrangements by Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.
